As part of its mission to promote recovery, wellness, and community education, CODAC Behavioral Healthcare offers trainings and workshops for professionals, organizations, and community partners across Rhode Island and beyond.

CODAC’s trainings are grounded in evidence-based practice, lived experience, and more than 50 years of leadership in behavioral healthcare. Offerings are designed to support effective communication, prevention efforts, and whole-person approaches to care.

Choose from three levels of Tobacco trainings: Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification, Tobacco/Nicotine Assessment & Referral, and Overview of Tobacco/Nicotine Dependence.  Trainings are in-person and are grounded in interactive learning.

Contract & Customized Trainings

In addition to scheduled workshops, CODAC provides contracted and customized trainings for agencies, organizations, and community partners. These trainings are typically not open to the general public and are tailored to the specific needs, settings, and goals of the requesting organization.

CODAC trainers can deliver sessions:

  • On-site at your organization
  • Virtually
  • As single-session workshops or multi-session programs
Trainings are designed to support professionals working in healthcare, prevention, education, social services, and related fields where effective, compassionate communication is essential.

Training Areas

CODAC’s training offerings may include, but are not limited to:
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Tobacco prevention, treatment, and cessation
Substance use prevention and community education
Communication strategies to support behavior change
Other customized topics aligned with behavioral health, prevention, and recovery-oriented systems of carewing (MI)
All trainings emphasize dignity, respect, cultural competency, and evidence-based approaches.
