CODAC Behavioral Healthcare Awarded Three-Year National Accreditation

CODAC Behavioral Healthcare, a statewide provider of substance abuse and behavioral healthcare services for 40 years, has been awarded a three-year accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its behavioral healthcare facilities in Cranston, Providence, Newport, East Providence, and Wakefield. CODAC has been providing services to Rhode Islanders and their families since 1971.

“This award represents the sixth consecutive three-year accreditation achieved by CODAC since we began participating in this process in 1996”, said Michael Rizzi, President/CEO. “We are extremely pleased to have all of our treatment services, including general outpatient, intensive outpatient, opioid treatment, and behavioral healthcare accredited for three years”, Rizzi added. Referring to the accreditation process, he stated, “This accreditation outcome represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows CODAC's substantial conformance to the standards established by CARF. It demonstrates a continuing commitment to excellence by the Board of Directors and staff. In order to achieve this level of accreditation, CODAC underwent a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors, during an on-site visit, that our programs and services are of the highest quality. I am enormously proud of the work, commitment, and compassion of our talented and dedicated CODAC staff. I want to thank and congratulate them for their contribution to this successful accreditation. ” 

CARF is an independent, not-for-profit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, they establish consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
